Advocacy & Policy Influence

The Uganda Nubi Elders Council engages in advocacy and policy influence to ensure the Nubi society is visibly and meaningfully included in Uganda’s national fabric. A key component of this work is lobbying for greater political representation and formal recognition of the Nubi community in national policies and decision-making processes. Through dialogue with relevant institutions and stakeholders, UNEC seeks to advance the community’s right to participate in shaping policies that affect its welfare, identity, and development—upholding the core value of Service through principled civic engagement.

In parallel, UNEC organises advocacy campaigns focused on social issues affecting the Nubi society. These campaigns are designed to raise awareness, mobilise community voices, and promote constructive solutions to challenges experienced by Nubi people. By bringing attention to these issues in a structured and values-driven manner, UNEC reinforces its commitment to Unity and Integrity—ensuring that advocacy remains rooted in truth, collective interest, and long-term empowerment rather than division or short-term reaction.
